What is Electro-Polishing:
Electro-Polishing is a process that improves the surface finish of our 304 stainless steel trim tab blades. Electro-Polishing delivers a smoother, more reflective surface than our standard mill finish and improves surface clean ability.
Electro-Polishing dissolves free iron, inclusions, and embedded particles from the surface of our trim tabs.
Lenco’s in-house process improves the near-surface chemistry of the material, and promotes the formation of an improved corrosion resistant surface layer.
Benefits of Electro-Polishing:
- Removes iron and potential contaminants from the surface of our trim tabs.
- Removes a small amount of material from the surface of our trim tab blades, also removing small burrs.
- Enhances the chromium and nickel content providing added resistance against environmental factors such as air, fresh and salt water.
- Polishes areas inaccessible by any other polishing methods.
- Provides a clean and smooth surface that is aesthetically pleasing.
