The BBB Tithon helmet strikes a remarkable balance between aerodynamic efficiency and thermal comfort. Over the past couple of years, we've observed a shift in helmet design preferences, with a move away from ventilation-centric designs towards those emphasizing streamlined aerodynamics. While we understand the pursuit of reduced drag, we also believe that an emphasis on aerodynamics has sometimes sacrificed rider comfort by sacrificing ventilation. Collaborating with the Advanced Embodiment Design team at the Technical University of Delft, we embarked on a study of the thermodynamic and aerodynamic aspects of cycling helmets. Right from the outset of the design journey, our primary objective was to discover the optimal equilibrium between minimizing drag and ensuring exceptional ventilation. This led us to incorporate these valuable insights into our design process, involving TU Delft's 3D modeling experts and subjecting numerous prototypes to rigorous wind tunnel testing.
